A Dying Man Is A Dangerous Man

By Dn Ethan He

1. What will you do, if you knew at the time of birth, that you have 33 years to live?

2. What will you do, if you knew you would experience great suffering and rejection, prior to your passing?

3. What will you do, if you knew despite your best efforts, the majority would choose the broad path & wide gate which leads to destruction?

For the first question, will we live life to the fullest?

For the second, will we remain faithful to our belief in God?

For the third, will it discourage us from sharing the gospel with our family & friends?

What set Jesus apart? He recognised his finite existence on earth. He knew what was to come. Still, he persisted. The knowledge of our mortality will never be enough for us to be better versions of ourselves. When the trials & tribulations of life batter against the gates of our fortitude, many will crumble under the weight of despair.

Luke 22:42 ESV
“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done”

Galatians 2:20 ESV
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”

The knowledge of finitude, without the dying to self, is an ineffectual life. In this season of Lent, let us begin each day on bended knees. Die to self. He is the potter; we are the clay. Let us allow God to define us His way, to open our eyes to things eternal, so that we will be set free from things which define us in this world. Only then will we be a danger to the evil one.

1 John 4:4
“For He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”

The evil one has never been more threatened, than to witness faith-filled spirit-led Christians advancing God’s kingdom, here on earth.

Don’t just change the world but save it for eternity’s sake.
